Work begins…
The first job was to prepare the loft by putting in a loft ladder, boarding out the floor and laying on electrics.

The loft ladder up to the model railway

The loft ladder was the first stage and took an afternoon.
Installing the loft boards to create the floor of the railway room
The loft boards were next and went down quite quickly. As soon as the first few were down, creating a stable surface, it became easier to work.
Flourescent lighting installed in the loft
Next, two flourescent lights were installed with a switch next to the loft hatch.
The finished carpeted floor in the loft space
Loft hatch position will be inside the model railway
With the loft basically fitted out and some spare carpet laid, thoughts can now turn to building the layout.
